Tau Beta Pi

Tau Beta Pi is the only engineering honor society representing the entire engineering profession. It is the nation's second-oldest honor society, founded to recognize students of distinguished scholarship and exemplary character.

There are now collegiate chapters at over 230 U.S. colleges and universities, active alumnus chapters in 16 districts across the country, and a total initiated membership of 531,700.


Current Announcements

Initiation is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013 at 7 p.m. in the Georgian B room of the City Campus Union in Lincoln. Dress is business casual.

Information for Eligible Members

The Initiation Ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. December 3; initiates should report at 6:45 p.m. to Georgian A room of the City Campus Union in Lincoln. Please put this into your calendars now and contact Karen Coen-Brown or  Katherine as soon as possible if you have a conflict.

Membership Information

  • Membership is by invitation only.
  • One time initiation fee for life membership (loans are available if money is an issue).
  • If elected, an eligible must attend initiation. If you cannot make the specified time, special permission will be needed from Nationals to defer initiation (not recommended).
  • www.tbp.org is the website for the National Headquarters.

General Meetings

  • Meetings are at 7:30 PM in 357 SEC. The next meeting is in January.
  • Actives are encouraged to attend initiation on Tuesday, December 3, 2013.
